The well-known Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera will celebrate in June its 95th anniversary with new car; its first mid-engined supercar.
Waiting for all the details, as teaser, the Italian atelier has released several images depicting the silhouette of the car and has revealed its name: Arese RH95. After the online debut, the supercar will be the protagonist of The Quail in California and Salon Privé (September 1-4) in Woodstock, England. The tour will continue with The Bridge in New York (September 18-19) and the Zoute Grand Prix in Belgium (October 7-10).
Alfa Romeo based? The Arese RH95 denomination is curious. If the number is a clear reference to the anniversary, the name Arese is in fact normally associated with Alfa Romeo, whose historical headquarters (as well as the museum) are located just north of Milan.
The mid-engine scheme, however, is not consistent with the Biscione models currently on the market and it seems unlikely that the car could be based on the small Alfa Romeo 4C. Rather, the name Arese could refer to the address of the Touring Superleggera headquarters, located in via Arese, 30 in Rho (MI).
