Range Rover Evoque by Castagna

Carrozzeria Castagna Milano has patented a new digital woodworking process that led to the development of the finish called WoodFabric. To unveil this new material, a customized version of the hybrid Range Rover Evoque has been created, shown online following the cancellation of the Salone del Mobile, where it has to be inveiled.

Malleable wood like fabric

Behind the slogan “Wood outside, wood inside”, the atelier confirms its traditional use of this material, often used to decorate the interiors and exteriors of cars. WoodFabric, is innovative and immune to temperature changes, humidity and UV rays and can be used in all conditions without losing its main characteristics and qualities. WoodFabric feels at the touch like printed fabric, but retain the reflections and texture of the original material becoming malleable to the point of being able to cover the dashboard, seats and panels without the use of molds

Gray, blue and coffee colors

The Evoque made by Carrozzeria Castagna features external oak woodstrips which follow the coachline starting from the rearlight LEDs. The interior, on the other hand, offers a completely new glance: the gray-blue leather, coordinated with the dominant color of the bodywork, has in fact been combined with Alcantara coffee-colored, pearl-gray metallic finishes and WoodFabric inserts on the backrest and on the dashboard

In 2005, Glickenhaus approached Pininfarina with an audacious vision: to transform the Ferrari Enzo into a one-of-a-kind homage to Ferrari’s iconic “P” series endurance racers of the 1960s. The goal was to blend the evocative spirit of Ferrari’s racing past with the technological sophistication of a modern supercar.

Under the guidance of Andrea Pininfarina, Chairman and CEO of Pininfarina S.p.A., and Paolo Garella, then-Head of Pininfarina Special Projects and founder of M.A.T., a talented team embarked on this ambitious project. Ken Okuyama, Director of Pininfarina Styling, played a pivotal role in shaping the P4/5’s breathtaking exterior, while Jason Castriota contributed significantly to its design evolution. Together, they collaborated closely with Glickenhaus, creating a true masterpiece of automotive design.

This extraordinary effort came with an equally extraordinary price tag—approximately $4 million—but the result was worth every cent. The Ferrari P4/5 by Pininfarina would become one of the most celebrated bespoke automobiles of all time, capturing the imagination of car enthusiasts and collectors alike.
