Introduce

Pietro Badoglio (born in Grazzano Monferrato on September 28, 1871, died in Grazzano Badoglio on November 1, 1956) was an Italian general and politician, Marshal of Italy, senator, and head of government from July 25, 1943, to June 8, 1944. He was granted the titles of Marquess of Sabotino and Duke of Addis Ababa by King Vittorio Emanuele III. After Mussolini’s deposition, he led a military government during World War II that led Italy to the armistice on September 8, 1943. He was later included in the UN list of war criminals at Ethiopia’s request for the use of chemical weapons on soldiers and civilians, though he was never prosecuted.
