Vehicle Overview

The Ford Brezza was constructed on the floor pan of the american Ford EXP two-seater, based on the Ford Escort. Powering the Brezza was a 1.6-liter engine used in the Escort. Designed by Ghia to compete with aerodynamics, the Ford Brezza incorporated unique skirted rear wheels, retractable headlights, and fairings ahead of the wheels to smooth airflow underneath the car. The air flow under the car was used to extract cooling air from the fully-ducted radiator, which took in air through the slots beneath the nose. A drag coefficient of 0.30, electrically-operated windows, and flush window frames added to the car’s sleek appearance. Luggage could be stored in the front and rear, and behind the seats. Inside, the red and black dashboard was accompanied by analog gauges mounted behind a plastic screen covering a protruding instrument box. The automatic gear lever was mounted below the temperature and radio controls.
