The Willys AW 380 was unveiled by Carrozzeria Viotti at the Bologna Motor Show, inspired by a historic two-seater berlinetta built in Brazil in the 1970s
The Willys AW 380 Berlineta is a sports coupe inspired by the Brazilian Willys Interlagos of the 1960s, originally built under license from Alpine by Willys Overland do Brasil, the Brazilian subsidiary of the American company. Revealed in 2014, this model was designed to mark the revival of the historic coachbuilder Viotti, intending to offer expensive custom-built cars with the same philosophy as the golden age of coachbuilders. Named the AW 380 Berlineta, this modern iteration featured a powerful 3.8-liter twin-turbo boxer six-cylinder Porsche engine, delivering 610 horsepower and 830 Nm of torque. According to the manufacturer’s specifications, the car could reach a top speed of 340 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds. It had rear-wheel drive and a six-speed transmission with paddle shifters, though the exact details of the gearbox were not specified. The innovative design by Emanuele Bomboi bore a striking resemblance to the Alpine A110, which debuted three years later. The Willys AW 380 Berlineta was built with a carbon fiber body, measuring 4.43 meters in length, 1.94 meters in width, and approximately 123 cm in height, with a declared weight of 1,350 kg. Produced by Maggiora in collaboration with Carrozzeria Viotti, the car was unveiled at the 2014 Bologna Auto Show and was set to enter production in January 2015. Planned as a limited run of 110 units, the starting price was set at 380,000 euros. However, the project did not progress beyond the prototype stage, and the car remained a one-off, symbolizing an ambitious but unrealized revival for the Viotti brand.
