Vehicle Overview

The VinFast VF 9, formerly known as the VinFast VF e36, is a full-size electric crossover SUV (E-segment) manufactured by VinFast, a subsidiary of the Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup. Unveiled in January 2021, the VF 9 debuted alongside the smaller VF 6 and VF 8 models, establishing itself as the largest vehicle in the brand’s lineup of electric crossovers. It was designed by the renowned Italian studio Pininfarina under the direction of Kevin Rice and made its global debut at the 2021 Los Angeles Motor Show. Measuring over 5.1 meters in length, the VF 9 features an imposing and contemporary design. Its exterior highlights include a distinctive two-module window line and slim Matrix LED lighting for the headlights and taillights, giving it a bold yet refined presence. Built with practicality in mind, the VF 9 comes with all-wheel drive (AWD) and accommodates up to seven passengers across three rows, making it well-suited for families and group travel. The interior continues the modern and minimalist theme, focusing on advanced technology. A massive 15.4-inch touchscreen dominates the cabin, serving as the interface for the multimedia system, onboard computer, and speedometer. By integrating these functions into a single display, the VF 9 eliminates the need for a traditional instrument cluster, creating a futuristic and streamlined driving experience. Powering the VF 9 is a dual-motor system paired with a 106 kWh battery. This setup generates 402 horsepower (300 kW) and provides a range of approximately 482 kilometers (300 miles) on a single charge, positioning the VinFast VF 9 as a competitive player in the global electric vehicle (EV) market. Initially launched in Vietnam in September 2021, with deliveries beginning in February 2022, the VF 9 is a central component of VinFast’s global expansion strategy. It entered international markets, including Australia, Europe, and North America, by mid-2022. With its advanced design by Pininfarina, strong performance, and cutting-edge technology, the VF 9 represents VinFast’s ambitious push into the global EV industry.
