Spada Codatronca

The idea behind the Spada Codatronca was born from Paolo Spada together with his father Ercole Spada, the famous automotive designer who worked for Zagato for many years, creating models that have marked the history of the company such as the historic Giulietta SZ and Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ for the Italian coachbuilder. It is precisely from the aerodynamic research that Zagato made in those years, coming to adopt the truncated tail bodywork, and from the nature of those historic cars, designed mainly for competitions, the tail-tail prototype was born. This concept was unveiled to the public for the first time in April 2007 with an authorization from the FIA for the participation of the specimen in the GT1 championship, the definitive model is presented about a year later, precisely on April 24, 2008 on the occasion of the Top Marques of Monte Carlo, the specimen was presented to the public by former Formula 1 driver and champion Damon Hill. After the official presentation at the Top Marques in Monte Carlo, the New York Times elected the Codatronca TS “the most beautiful car of the show”

Vehicle Overview

The Spada Codatronca has a sporty line with a truncated tail, it is characterized by very modern features and taut lines that contrast with details that recall the supercars of the sixties and eighties, such as the truncated and sectioned tail in order to bring out the shape inverted T of the same rear section. The interiors of the Spada Codatronca are decidedly sporty with aluminum and alcantara inserts, however being a handcrafted car and given the targeted customization possibilities provided by the manufacturer, this car does not seem to come with a single type of set-up. Among the partners that SVS Spada V Auto Sport collaborates for this project, we remember the AZNOM alterier who, in addition to participating in the construction of the car, collaborates in the supply of travel gadgets and car accessories, in fact the car is sold with the possibility of match a set of Aznom suitcases. The truncated tail body made it possible to obtain a trunk of 400 liters. The SVS Codatronca TS (turismo sportivea) is a two-seater coupe equipped with a 7000 cm³ aluminum dry sump V8 engine, compatible with E85 power supply, which delivers a maximum power of 630 hp (approximately 465 kW) at 6 500 rpm. / min, with a maximum torque of 668 N⋅m at 4 800 rpm. The gearbox is 6-speed, and in sixth gear at 7,000 rpm electronically limited the car reaches a top speed of 335 km / h, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.4 seconds. The traction control is adjustable in 3 operating levels, the car is equipped with a 40-channel telemetry system capable of storing up to 80 hours of data. The bodywork is made of composite material resting on an aluminum frame, the suspensions are adjustable, as are the front and rear anti-roll bars (separately) in four levels of hardness. The car is equipped with OZ Racing 19 and up Pirelli P-Zero tires with measures 285/35/19 “for the front, 385/35/19” for the rear. The braking system is Brembo with 380 mm discs equipped with racing calipers with 8 calipers at the front and 355 mm discs with 4 calipers at the rear, governed by ABS. The car manufacturer has announced that in addition to the model currently produced, a higher power version called TSS (Turismo Super Sportivo) will be produced which is expected to have an indicative power of 700 HP, 950 N⋅m, 355 km / h, 0-100. km / h in 2.7 seconds.
