Seat Ibiza
The 1993 Seat Ibiza designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro.
Vehicle Overview
The 1993 Seat Ibiza second generation, once again designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, was presented to the public in May 1993 with a much softer and more rounded design than the previous one and with latest generation engines derived from the Volkswagen Golf with powers up to 150hp. The dimensions have also significantly increased compared to the previous one, apart from the wheelbase which was decreased. The development platform of the new series was based on the Volkswagen A03 platform, on which various models were developed such as, in addition to the second series of the Ibiza, also the third series of the Volkswagen Polo, with which it shares the platform and the relative version of the Volkswagen Polo. “playa” marketed in South America and the SEAT Inca vans (witch shares the same front) and Volkswagen Caddy. Also from this series of the Ibiza was derived the 3-volume version, the Seat Córdoba, direct heir to the Malaga, and the station wagon version, called Cordoba Vario and closely related to the Polo Variant.
