Production began in 2006, with assembly handled by Pininfarina in Bairo near Turin, Italy. Pininfarina’s design expertise helped shape the Colt CZC’s unique appearance, while the innovative two-part folding roof was supplied by the German firm Oasys, part of the roof specialist Webasto. This collaboration provided the Colt CZC with a smooth, reliable roof mechanism that folds efficiently, transforming the car from a sleek coupé to an open-top convertible in moments. Unveiled as a concept at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show, the Colt CZC’s production model debuted the following year, bringing a sporty, European-focused flair to Mitsubishi’s lineup. Powering the Colt CZC is a gasoline “1500” engine, offered in two versions: a standard 109-hp option and a more powerful 150-hp variant. The higher-powered version delivers a lively driving experience, enabling the Colt CZC to reach speeds over 200 km/h (124 mph) and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.4 seconds. This performance, combined with the car’s nimble handling and compact size, made it an attractive choice for drivers seeking an enjoyable yet practical convertible for European roads.
