Maserati Chubasco

Revealed as concept car in 1991, the Chubasco was intended to be the new Maserati GT supercar and competitor of the Ferrari 348. Designed by Gandini, it featured a mid-mounted 3.2-litre V8 (derived from the Shamal unit) and just two seats.

Vehicle Overview

Due to its high costs, the Maserati Chubasco was not put into production, however, according to some “rumors” Maserati Chubasco didn’t went into production (with a planned production run of 450 units) because Fiat, at that time still a minority shareholder of the from De Tomaso owned company, did not accept such a competitor for its “sister” company Ferrari.
