The Iso Rivolta GT 300/340 by Bertone.
The Iso Rivolta GT 300/340: To Nuccio Bertone, the temptation was always there to offer the American market large cars with engines made in the U.S.A. and bodies produced by Italian master craftsmen. In 1962, it was Iso Rivolta of the Milanese suburb of Bresso that came up with a rigid but light chassis platform with a De Dion rear axle; the Chevrolet Corvette engine (5354 cc V8, 300-345 hp at 5000-6000 rpm) was installed and Bertone designed an italian-style four-seater, twoo-door grand tourer body, which had a lot of space for the rear passengers. From the early drawings by Giugiaro, Berone moved on to built the first prototype, after which the Iso Rivolta GT first saw the light of day in the Summer of 1962. The car was a compromise of classical lines and innovative ides, a body that was ‘a little too cautious’ according to a commentby Nuccio Berone in later years. Built on a 2700 mm wheelbase, tha Iso Rivolta GT was 4800 mm long, 1340mm high and weighed 1500 kg. A total of 770 was produced beween 1962 and 1970.
