Icona Vulcano
The Icona Vulcano supercar.
Vehicle Overview
The Icona Vulcano is a remarkable sports car that perfectly blends exclusivity, performance, and cutting-edge design. Created by Icona Group and brought to life by Cecomp, this extraordinary vehicle is truly one of a kind, with only three units ever built, each featuring a unique powertrain configuration. Its rare status and bold engineering make it a symbol of automotive artistry and innovation. Unveiled at the 2013 Auto Shanghai, the Vulcano immediately captured attention with its stunning design and a price tag of around 3 million euros. Designed by Samuel Chuffart, the car was envisioned as a showcase of automotive craftsmanship, drawing from the expertise of industry legends. Its chassis was developed by Claudio Lombardi, a former Ferrari director responsible for some of the most iconic championship-winning cars, ensuring that the Vulcano had both the engineering pedigree and performance credentials to match its breathtaking appearance. The car offered two hybrid powertrain options to cater to enthusiasts seeking different levels of performance. The H-Turismo variant featured a V12 engine paired with an electric motor, delivering an impressive total of 950 horsepower, while the H-Competizione combined a twin-turbo V6 engine with dual electric motors to produce 870 horsepower. Both options emphasized the Vulcano’s ability to merge raw power with advanced hybrid technology. Visually, the Icona Vulcano is a masterpiece, finished in a striking shade of flamboyant red that complements its aggressive yet refined styling. The design incorporates dynamic triangular elements inspired by the Icona logo, seamlessly integrated into the car’s sleek silhouette. These shapes enhance the vehicle’s sense of motion and power, while tight lines and voluptuous curves add to its seductive presence. The Vulcano’s development was a meticulous process, combining traditional clay modeling with advanced 3D refinement. Every detail was carefully tested for ergonomics, aerodynamics, and crash safety, ensuring the car was not only stunning to look at but also functional and safe. The result is a sports car that balances performance, elegance, and cutting-edge technology, representing the pinnacle of automotive excellence.
