The Ford Start, unveiled at the 2001 Frankfurt International Auto Show (IAA), is a conceptual design by Pininfarina that stands apart as a purely imaginative proposal rather than a prototype or potential production vehicle. With a length of 4.2 meters, the Start is a compact 2+2 coupe that showcases Pininfarina’s forward-thinking approach to design. Capable of converting into a sleek open-top car, the Start features a retractable roof that slides automatically into the rear compartment, embodying innovation in both form and function.
