The Fissore Aruanda, conceived in 1963 by Brazilian architecture student Ari de Rocha, represents a fascinating intersection of innovative design and practical engineering. Designed to showcase a forward-thinking vision of automotive transportation, the Aruanda was built by Carrozzeria Fissore in 1964, though it didn’t make its public debut until the following year. Ari de Rocha’s design for the Aruanda was notable for its ‘one-box’ layout, a design approach that emphasized simplicity and functionality. This concept was particularly avant-garde for its time, reflecting a departure from traditional automotive designs with its streamlined, boxy shape.
