Fioravanti Hidra
On the occasion of the twentieth anniversary, Fioravanti proposes the Hidra, a new car concept following in the footsteps already marked by the Thalìa exhibited a year earlier, again in Geneva.
Vehicle Overview
The Fioravanti Hidra was unveiled at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show, as the end of a long process of technological, aesthetic, habitability and aerodynamics research. It is presented by the house with the initials MPC (Multi Purpose Coupé) this to mark the profile going down towards the rear of the car that remotely recalls the coupé cars but the bodywork of the car is in itself a 5-door MPV in all respects and 4 places. The car is a dual-fuel hybrid with a central beam in which either the hydrogen tanks or batteries for electric motors can be allocated. The line takes up the aerodynamic research of its sister Thalìa and from this it also takes the solution of the front optical group consisting of a single self-adjusting lighting system according to the needs of use, while the new OLED backlighting system for the number plate is also innovative. The rear lights, the turn signals, the rear fog light and the reversing light are inserted in the rear bumper, in the rear there are also the cameras that replace the exterior mirrors, removed for aerodynamic reasons. The Fioravanti Hidra is also equipped with an unprecedented patent developed by the parent company regarding the independent wheel suspension system. The Fioravanti Hidra body in the front part of the roof has a characteristic aesthetic-functional solution in the shape of an “H” that wraps the front pillars and the perimeter of the windscreen and incorporates an unprecedented solution for cleaning the windscreen and rear window, eliminating definitively away the wipers. The solution consists in the creation of a windshield made up of 4 very thin woven mesh films, the outermost one is water repellent to which the cleaning action of nano-powders is added and a series of rain detection sensors inside the windshield, all powered. from the car. When this is not in motion, however, the cleaning system is replaced by a patent, called a geyser, consisting of nozzles incorporated in elements co-molded with glass that spray water (recovered from the fuel cell process) and air (hot in the case of ice forming on the window) alternately or simultaneously, in order to prepare a situation suitable for the cleaning action adopted when the car is in motion.
