Under the creative direction of Gioacchino Acampora, Castagna has created two distinct versions of this “spiaggina” transformation: a shorter variant that maintains the original dimensions of the Topolino, priced at €25,000 plus VAT, and a longer version that introduces a rear compartment and extended overhang, priced at €35,000 plus VAT. At the heart of the transformation is a blend of traditional techniques and cutting-edge innovation. Castagna employs exclusive 3D printing technology for the car’s body elements, using organic carbon fiber to create lightweight yet durable parts. This process allows for seamless design adjustments without compromising the car’s safety. The frame itself has been reinforced with high-strength aluminum to ensure stability while keeping the overall weight in check. True to Castagna’s legacy of luxury, the Fiat Topolino beach car is adorned with premium materials. The design eliminates the need for doors, opting instead for raised thresholds with anti-intrusion bars that also protect against water splashes. A roll bar is installed, while a sturdy frame supports the waterproof fabric roof, which can be neatly folded away, with transparent side panels offering additional protection from the elements. Wood, a hallmark of Castagna’s creations, is incorporated into the design, allowing customers to personalize the car with various options including mahogany, teak, lemon, oak, and wenge. The longer version of the Topolino adds a rear extension of 30 centimeters, complete with a teak shelf and a luggage compartment below. Hidden within the wooden elements are clever compartments, including a charging port and a shower. Customization is key to the Castagna experience, with a wide array of color options, including pastel shades and opalescent finishes, which can be paired with contrasting accents on the wheel arches and body. Other bespoke options include wicker baskets for the dashboard, wooden steering wheels, chrome alloy rims, and floors made from cork or marine plywood.
