The Fiat Cinquecento Concept Cars
At the 1992 Turin Motor Show, Fiat unveiled a series of concept cars designed by famous Italian coachbuilders to celebrate the arrival of the small Cinquecento on the market.
The Fiat Cinquecento is about to be unveiled: In December 1991 all the main Italian coachbuilders were invited to create special custom-built cars based on the upcoming Fiat Citycar. The presentation of these one off Cinquecento was scheduled for the next Turin Motor Show, in April 22, 1992 at the Fiat stand.
The Fiat Cinquecento Cita: Nine Fiat Cinquecento were given by the Turin based car manifacturer to nine chosen coachbuilders and a cash contribution of 100,000,000 lire with the aim to create special versions for the 1992 Turin Auto Show. Idea, Bertone, Pininfarina, Italdesign, Zagato, Coggiola and “Stola-Itca-Maggiora” were the selected companies. The Stola-Itca-Maggiora consortium build the Cinquecento called Cita, which in Piedmontese dialect means “little one” (a clear Moretti Cita reference). Aldo Garnero designed this one off who already worked with Stola for the Fiat Panda Destriero.
