The Fiat 600 Zagato was the elaborated version offered by the renowned Milanese coachbuilder. This exclusive model was sold directly by Zagato and came in two distinct versions: the “E” and the “L.” In addition, Zagato occasionally produced true one-offs, such as a unique 600 D with an engine modified by Stanguellini.
The “E” version, priced at 730,000 Lire (approximately 27,350 Euros today), featured a sophisticated two-tone paint scheme in Lunalcrome and pastel. Its exterior boasted an elegant chrome front grille, shiny trims on the windows, and chrome rain gutters that separated the contrasting colors. The front and rear bumpers were enhanced with reinforced caps, and the car sported chrome hood ornaments and headlight visors. Inside, the cabin was meticulously finished in selected colors with protective foam cushions in the handle pockets.
For those seeking even more exclusivity, the “L” version, priced at 760,000 Lire (equivalent to 28,500 Euros today), built upon the “E” with additional luxury appointments. It replaced the front position lights with turn signals placed under the headlights and added chrome wire wheels, a spray windshield washer system, and chrome frames for the front and rear license plates. The interior featured two-tone seat covers, a magnetized ashtray, and elegant coco fabric floor mats.
These variants of the Fiat 600 Zagato were not merely cars but bespoke creations tailored to meet the desires of discerning customers looking for luxury, style, and individuality in their automotive experience.
