Fiat 2300 S Club

The Fiat 2300S Club shooting brake by Ghia.

Vehicle Overview

The Fiat 2300S Club, introduced in 1962 by Carrozzeria Ghia, was a remarkable and stylish Shooting Brake based on the Fiat 2300S Coupé. Designed with versatility and elegance in mind, the 2300S Club was described in its official brochure as a vehicle “for long distance travels, for sports and holidays in all Countries and in all weathers.” It maintained the high performance of its sibling models, the Coupé and Cabriolet, while offering greater spaciousness and utility. The 2300S Club was designed to comfortably accommodate at least five passengers, with seats equipped with safety belt connections. The back of the rear seat was reclinable, allowing the creation of a flat cargo area for transporting various luggage. This practicality was complemented by its sleek design, characteristic of Ghia’s renowned attention to aesthetic details and meticulous finishing. One of the unique features of the 2300S Club was its large rear door, which had invisible hinges at the top and positioning compasses that allowed the door to be held horizontal with the roof. This design provided an extended loading area, enhancing the car’s practicality without compromising its elegant lines. Despite its inclusion in Ghia’s official price lists, only two units of the Fiat 2300S Club were ever built. One of these was finished in a distinctive mustard yellow color. Unfortunately, none of these rare vehicles have survived to the present day, making the 2300S Club a fascinating but lost chapter in the history of automotive design. The Fiat 2300S Club remains a symbol of Ghia’s innovative approach to combining luxury, practicality, and performance in a single, beautifully crafted vehicle.
