Sergio Sartorelli: Designer of Dreams
Designer Sergio Sartorelli was born in Alessandria in 1928; he took the degree in Mechanical Engineering at the “Politecnico” of Turin and soon became interested in cars.
The Fiat 1300/1500 was an important car for Fiat, as it fitted between the Fiat 1100 and Fiat 1800, thus filling a gap in the range. It was presented in 1961 in two variants, the 1300 and 1500: the only differences between the 1300 and 1500 were the rear lettering and the frame of the side windows, which in 1500 was chromed.
The Fiat 1500 Familiare designed by Sergio Sartorelli was entrusted to OSI which remains the most successful model of the Turin coachbuilder founded by Arrigo Olivetti e Luigi Segre.
