Fiat 128 Star

The Fiat 128 Star by Francis Lombardi.

Vehicle Overview

The Fiat 128 Star made its debut at the 1971 Turin Motor Show, a distinctive creation crafted by the renowned Italian coachbuilder Francis Lombardi. This vehicle, a unique four-door berlina, was based on the regular Fiat 128 chassis but transformed into something extraordinary through Lombardi’s skillful design and craftsmanship. The 128 Star represented an innovative venture into automotive customization, showcasing Lombardi’s vision of blending the practicality of a standard sedan with exclusive, bespoke detailing that elevated the car into a true work of art. Francis Lombardi’s intention was to offer the Fiat 128 Star as part of a limited series production, allowing a wider audience to experience the elegance and refinement of this special creation. The vehicle’s design perfectly embodied Italian automotive artistry, with a careful balance between functionality and aesthetic appeal. The 128 Star’s unique styling added an air of exclusivity to the regular Fiat 128, transforming it into a refined, premium version of the popular model. However, despite these ambitious plans, the Fiat 128 Star never achieved the small-scale production that Lombardi envisioned. Instead, the car remained a one-off, a singular creation that captured the attention of automotive enthusiasts and collectors alike. This limited availability only adds to the mystique and allure of the Fiat 128 Star, turning it into a rare and sought-after gem in the world of classic cars. As a result, the Fiat 128 Star remains an iconic example of bespoke Italian craftsmanship and automotive design. Though it never entered mass production, its one-of-a-kind nature ensures its place in the hearts of car collectors and enthusiasts, making it a symbol of the artistry and innovation that Italian coachbuilders like Lombardi brought to the automotive world.

Tut Tut.
Italian Sedan / Saloon cars are always known as a Berlina.
Or if they have really short rear doors Berline. see Rover P5B Coupe for example.
