The Moretti 128 Roadster was a significant model unveiled by the Turin-based coachbuilder Moretti at the 1969 Turin Motor Show. Designed by former Studio Michelotti designer Dany Brawand, this car marked Moretti’s innovation in producing an open-top vehicle based on the Fiat 128 platform. Equipped with the classic 1,100 cm³ engine, the 128 Roadster delivered performance comparable to its Fiat counterpart, achieving 0 to 100 km/h in 15 seconds and reaching a top speed of over 150 km/h. One of the standout features of the Moretti 128 Roadster was its removable two-piece targa roof, which added to its versatility and appeal. The design was both elegant and aggressive, reflecting the craftsmanship and aesthetic sensibility of the Moretti brand. Built in a semi-artisanal manner in Moretti’s factories on via Monginevro, Turin, the roadster was produced in very limited numbers, with fewer than a hundred units made, adding to its exclusivity. The interior of the 128 Roadster was highly customizable, allowing owners to enhance the driving experience with various accessories. Options included a sports steering wheel, electric windows, and leather upholstery, among others.
