With the Fiat 124 Mole, a car made by the Mole Automobiles brand for collector Andrea Levy, Umberto Palermo’s Up Design showed how it is possible to transform a high-production sports car into a real custom-built car. Presented in an exclusive event at the Rivoli showroom of the Piedmontese company, the Italian one off was one of the protagonists of the of the Parco Valentino Auto Show 2017. The car has been remodeled in the shapes and covered in the interior, with precious materials and a refined taste, for an original and characterful final result. Distinctive elements of the design of this special 124 by Mole are the longitudinal cut on the bonnet, a new front with a single grille, a rear enriched by dynamic lines. The interiors, revisited without being distorted, show off a “dress” in hand-stitched white leather and olive wood inserts that embellish various elements: from the steering wheel to the crowns of the air vents, from the horizontal strip in the dashboard to the central console. On this occasion, Umberto Palermo anticipated the transformation of UP Design into a S.p.A. by the end of July, “to face the tailor made market and acquire superior skills and professionalism”.
