The Fiat 1200 Spider OSI is a rare and elegant creation produced by OSI (Officine Stampaggi Industriali), an Italian coachbuilder founded in 1960 by Luigi Segre, the boss of Ghia. OSI was established to build special series of cars for various manufacturers, including Ghia, Innocenti, and Fiat. The Fiat 1200 Spider OSI was one of the standout models from this collaboration, designed by the renowned Giovanni Michelotti, a famous figure in Italian automotive design. Built on a Fiat 1100D chassis, the OSI Spider featured a 1,200cc engine, despite the model name. The compact engine, along with the lightweight and stylish body, made the 1200 Spider a fun and agile driving experience. Only 28 examples of this model were produced, making it an extremely limited edition and one of the rarest cars of its era. OSI’s design for the 1200 Spider was an open-bodied spider that captured the essence of Italian automotive styling in the 1960s. It showcased a sleek, streamlined silhouette with soft curves and elegant details, fitting the spirit of post-war Italian cars.
