The Ferrari 166 Inter Spider Farina chassis 063S.

Vehicle Overview

The Ferrari 166 Inter Spider Farina chassis 063S was built as a one-off by Stabilimenti Farina and designed by Giovanni Michelotti in 1950. The car debuted at the Paris Motor Show on October 5, 1950, showcasing its unique design and craftsmanship. It was later displayed at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1951. In 1951, the car was owned by Emmanuel de Graffenried, a Swiss driver from Lausanne. By 1952, it was in the hands of Charles Edmond Tocchio, another Swiss owner. During 1953, Tocchio participated in events such as the Col de la Faucile and Eau Morte, further cementing the car’s presence in European motorsport. In 1964, the car was discovered in a scrapyard by Rob de la Rive Box in Villmergen, Switzerland. The car was then sold to Bernard Worth in the UK in 1965, where it was rebodied in the late 1960s as a Ferrari 166 Spyder Corsa with cycle wings, powered by a 250 GT engine. During the 1970s, Christopher Stewart found a 212 engine and began restoring the car. By 1978, the car was offered by Campbell-Bowling as a Ferrari 166 Spyder Corsa V12. The car continued to change ownership over the years, with notable sales in the 1990s. In 1991, it was sold at The Auction Las Vegas for $204,750, and in 1993, it fetched $295,000. The car underwent further rebodying in the early 2000s, including a transformation into a Touring Barchetta with a short bonnet style. It was displayed at the Techno Classica in Essen, Germany, in March 2008 by Klaus Wener and again in 2011 by Movendi. In 2014, the car was acquired by Nicolas and Joost Bert in Belgium, who had it restored by Ferrari Classiche. In 2020, the car was displayed at the Mille Miglia, continuing to capture attention at prestigious events. Most recently, in October 2022, it was featured in the “Ferrari Forever” exhibition at the Museo Enzo Ferrari.
