The De Tomaso Longchamp Spider by Carrozzeria Pavesi.
In 1983, the De Tomaso Longchamp Spider was introduced, joining its counterpart, the De Tomaso Longchamp Coupé. Built by Carrozzeria Pavesi from Milan, the Longchamp Spider represented an open-top variant of the Longchamp model line. Carrozzeria Pavesi, renowned for its expertise in crafting bespoke automotive bodies, was entrusted by De Tomaso to produce all spider versions of the Longchamp. The Longchamp Spider, with its convertible design, offered enthusiasts an exhilarating open-air driving experience while retaining the Longchamp’s distinctive styling cues and performance characteristics. Despite being a niche model, the Longchamp Spider contributed to the overall appeal and diversity of the Longchamp lineup. Between 1983 and 1988, a total of 409 Longchamp vehicles were produced, comprising 395 coupés and a limited run of 14 spiders. This limited production run adds to the exclusivity and desirability of the Longchamp Spider, making it a sought-after collector’s item among enthusiasts of Italian sports cars. The De Tomaso Longchamp series, including both the coupé and spider variants, remains an iconic representation of De Tomaso’s legacy in automotive design and performance. With its sleek lines, powerful engines, and Italian craftsmanship, the Longchamp continues to captivate enthusiasts and collectors alike, embodying the spirit of automotive excellence and passion.
