Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Ares

The Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray by Ares Modena.

Vehicle Overview

The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Ares represents a breathtaking fusion of classic American muscle and modern performance engineering. The first-generation Corvette Sting Ray, introduced in the 1950s, is celebrated as one of the most iconic American cars, with the Sting Ray moniker gaining prominence in the 1960s. Known for its distinctive design and the newfound freedom of the era, the Sting Ray has long captured the imagination of automotive enthusiasts. ARES Modena, renowned for their bespoke automotive transformations, has taken this classic and elevated it to a new realm of sophistication and performance. Their comprehensive overhaul of the 1964 Corvette Sting Ray is the result of over 3,500 hours of meticulous work, blending the car’s vintage charm with state-of-the-art updates. Externally, ARES has outfitted the Sting Ray with custom-made wheels that pay homage to the original Turbine design. These wheels are 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear, finished in a tri-tone style: blasted between the spokes, milled on the spokes, and polished on the barrels. The original pop-up headlights have been upgraded with high-output projectors and modern LED halos, maintaining the car’s iconic look while enhancing visibility. Underneath, the transformation is equally impressive. A new chassis, equipped with Corvette C7 axles and suspension, was paired with a rebuilt LS3 525hp V8 engine and a five-speed manual transmission. This setup is complemented by a Viper Hammerhead rear differential, all contributing to the car’s enhanced road manners and performance. The exhaust system has been upgraded to a complete stainless-steel setup, with pipes routed through the chassis for a more robust performance and a subtle increase in horsepower. The interior of the Sting Ray has been exquisitely reimagined. A handmade Wilton burgundy carpet and handcrafted leather door panels and dashboard showcase the craftsmanship of ARES’ leather department. The original seats were meticulously restored with new springs and bushings for improved support while retaining their classic appearance. Modern amenities include a custom Alpine 500w audio system, Bluetooth connectivity, and discreetly integrated USB and charging ports. The original dials have been reworked with a mix of old and new materials and LED lighting, and electric windows, remote central locking, and a modern A/C system have been installed for enhanced comfort. In sum, the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Ares is not just a restomod but a comprehensive restoration that preserves the spirit of the classic while incorporating cutting-edge technology and performance upgrades. This transformation stands as a testament to ARES Modena’s capability and dedication to automotive excellence.
