Presented by Zagato at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show, the Bentley GTZ is a neo-classic interpretation of the luxury British GT, based on the Bentley Continental GT Speed. Among the design elements is the double-bubble roof.
The Bentley Continental GTZ, unveiled at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show, is a stunning example of neoclassic automotive design by Zagato. This exclusive model reimagines the Bentley Continental GT Speed through the lens of Zagato’s signature styling, blending elegance and aggression into a bespoke grand tourer. Produced in a highly limited series of just nine units, the GTZ is a collector’s dream, reflecting the artistry and craftsmanship of both brands. Creating the Continental GTZ posed a unique challenge: applying Zagato’s design language, which had shaped the GTs of the 2000s, to a car with entirely different proportions. Despite these constraints and the need to retain the functionality, quality, and performance of the donor car, Zagato delivered a design that honors both the Bentley legacy and their own distinctive style. The result is a striking berlinetta with a bold yet refined appearance. Key features of the Continental GTZ include its prominent, sculpted bumpers and Zagato’s iconic double-bubble roof, which enhances both aerodynamics and aesthetics. The rear of the car is particularly noteworthy, with a rounded tail design featuring innovative rear lights that set it apart from the original Continental GT. The two-tone paintwork further emphasizes the car’s dynamic character, creating a harmonious blend of elegance and sportiness. Mechanically, the Continental GTZ retains the formidable performance of the Bentley Continental GT Speed, powered by a 6.0-liter W12 engine. This powerhouse delivers 600 horsepower, ensuring that the GTZ is as exhilarating to drive as it is to admire. With its luxurious interior and grand touring capabilities, the car remains a Bentley at heart, offering unparalleled comfort alongside its bespoke Zagato design. Priced at €400,000–€450,000 (excluding the donor car), the Continental GTZ is a testament to the value of exclusivity and craftsmanship. As one of only nine examples ever produced, it stands as a celebration of innovation and artistry, embodying the spirit of two iconic names in automotive history.
