The V8 Zagato’s name reflects its heritage, being based on the Aston Martin V8, but featuring a distinctive body crafted by the famed Italian coachbuilder Zagato. Zagato’s design for the V8 Vantage was a modern and angular reinterpretation of the classic Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato from the 1960s. One of the most debated features of the new design was its squared-off grille, which diverged from traditional Aston Martin aesthetics and sparked significant discussion among enthusiasts and critics alike. Under the hood, the V8 Vantage Zagato was powered by a robust 430 hp (321 kW) V8 engine, equipped with twin choke Weber carburetors. This all-alloy car was capable of reaching speeds up to 300 km/h (186 mph), reflecting its high-performance credentials.
