Despite the open body design, the Volante’s structural integrity ensured exceptional handling and a smooth, quiet ride, even at high speeds. Performance-wise, the DB6 Volante offered a 4.0-liter, twin-overhead cam, straight-six engine, producing 282 horsepower in its standard form, while the Vantage version boasted 325 horsepower. This allowed the Volante to reach top speeds of around 150 mph, with a 0-60 mph acceleration time of just 6.2 seconds. These figures, paired with a five-speed manual or optional automatic gearbox, ensured the Volante remained a thrilling drive. Inside, the Volante continued Aston Martin’s tradition of luxury, featuring sumptuous leather upholstery, finely crafted wood trim, and optional amenities like air conditioning. Only 140 DB6 Volantes were built, including 29 Vantage versions, making this model highly collectible.
