ARES DESIGN’s Project Wami is currently in the development stage but from its computer renderings and CAD design it’s clear to see that this will be one of the most enticing Roadsters ever made.
The Ares Wami draws its design inspiration from the Frua-bodied Maseratis of the 1950s, particularly models like the 2000 Spyder. Its proportions are meticulously crafted, presenting a blend of crisp tailoring and bold muscularity, accentuated by an abundance of period-specific details. Project Wami is constructed using a mix of handcrafted aluminium and carbon fibre, materials with which ARES DESIGN has extensive experience, as demonstrated in their work on the exquisite Bentley Mulsanne Coupé and the sublime Panther. Project Wami incorporates many styling cues from 1950s Maserati designs, such as side exit exhausts, chromed front and rear bumper over-riders, and classic wire wheels. These elements contribute to its vintage charm while showcasing modern craftsmanship. Inside, the car embraces a classically styled simplicity, featuring an unadorned central transmission tunnel, a metal dashboard, and black-on-white dials that echo the design of the original Maseratis. The period-style sports seats are upholstered in fine Italian leather from ARES DESIGN’s leather department, enhancing the luxurious feel of the interior. Milled aluminium and chrome detailing further accentuate the car’s classic aesthetic, creating a harmonious blend of old-world elegance and contemporary sophistication. When Project Wami reaches fruition, it promises to be the finest bespoke roadster, a true testament to ARES DESIGN’s meticulous attention to detail. This car not only pays homage to the iconic Frua-bodied Maseratis but also showcases ARES DESIGN’s commitment to creating bespoke vehicles that combine historical inspiration with modern engineering and craftsmanship.
