Powered by a tuned 1,997cc four-cylinder engine, the 1950s Disco Volante boasted remarkable aerodynamics and performance, influencing automotive legends like Sir William Lyons and his designer Malcolm Sayer in the creation of the D-type and E-type Jaguars. The modern iteration, spearheaded by Louis de Fabribeckers, retained the essence of the original Touring masterpiece while leveraging the technological advancements of the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione. With a Ferrari-designed 4.7-liter V8 engine churning out 450 horsepower, the 8C provided blistering performance, capable of exceeding 190mph. Craftsmen at Touring Superleggera’s Milan facility meticulously transformed standard 8C road cars into bespoke works of art. Further enhancing the driving experience, the suspension was re-engineered for a more comfortable yet sporting ride, while a specially tuned exhaust system produced an exquisite engine note cherished by the owner.
