Reichman was born in Sheffield, West Riding of Yorkshire, to an English mother and a Polish father. His father’s work as a blacksmith and his family’s passion for cars greatly influenced Reichman’s interest in industrial design. From a young age, he developed an appreciation for craftsmanship and design, which led him to pursue industrial design academically. He graduated from Teesside University with a first-class honors degree in industrial design, later studying vehicle design at the Royal College of Art in London. He became the first Land Rover student at the Royal College, further solidifying his commitment to car design.
Reichman’s professional journey began in 1991 with Rover Cars, and in 1995, after Rover’s takeover by BMW, he moved to BMW Designworks in California. There, he led the design direction of Land Rover, most notably contributing to the 2003 Range Rover (L322). In May 2005, Reichman joined Aston Martin as the Director of Design, a position that would allow him to influence the brand’s renowned style and luxury vehicles.
Among Reichman’s notable design achievements are the Aston Martin One-77, DBS, Rapide, and the 2012 Vanquish. He also designed the Aston Martin Vulcan, Rolls-Royce Phantom VII, and the Lincoln MKX Concept and Navicross Concept Cars. One of his most high-profile projects was the design of the Aston Martin DB10 concept car, which appeared in the 2015 James Bond film Spectre. Reichman also oversaw the creation of the Aston Martin DP-100, a concept car designed for the video game Gran Turismo 6.
In 2008, Reichman became an assistant professor at the Royal College of Art, further contributing to the world of design education. In 2015, he collaborated with artist Kaves to create a custom paint job for the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante, showcasing his ongoing involvement in innovative automotive design.
