Introduce
David Wilkie is a seasoned automotive designer, currently serving as the Global Head of Industrial Design for all brands under CNH Industrial. In this role, he oversees design studios across multiple locations, including Torino and Modena in Italy, Chicago in the USA, and India. His leadership and expertise have greatly contributed to the design direction across a wide range of products, from automotive to commercial vehicles and agricultural equipment.
David’s academic journey began at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland, where he earned his degree in Product Design. He later furthered his education with a Master’s in Automotive Design from the Royal College of Art in London, solidifying his foundation in industrial and automotive design.
David’s professional experience spans several prestigious companies. He spent five years at Peugeot Citroën SA before joining Ford’s Advanced Design Center, where he worked for 15 years. During his tenure at Ford, he contributed significantly to automotive design, working on cutting-edge projects and helping shape the brand’s future designs. His expertise continued to grow with a five-year stint at Stile Bertone, where he first served as Interior Design Director and later as Overall Design Director. Here, he worked on a diverse range of design projects, including automotive and commercial vehicles, as well as product design.
After Bertone, David ventured into the electric mobility sector, working for startups like Mindset and Mia Electric in Switzerland and France. This period broadened his perspective, allowing him to design innovative solutions for the rapidly evolving field of electric vehicles. His experience as a consultant designer further enriched his career, collaborating with international manufacturers and enhancing his comprehensive understanding of design.
