The 1974 Concept was designed by the famous designer
Hyundai and Giorgetto Giuagiaro together again.
Indeed, the Korean automaker has announced a collaboration with Italian design studio GFG Style and in particular its founders Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro.
One can speak of a return to the roots for both parties, given the common goal of recreating the historic 1974 Hyundai Pony Coupe Concept, designed by a young Giorgetto Giugiaro for its debut at the 1974 Turin Motor Show.
It was Hyundai’s first time at the Piedmont event. The reconstructed concept car will be presented during next spring.
Hyundai first unveiled the project during a design discussion held in Seoul, which featured Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro together with the Korean Group’s top management.
“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Giorgetto and Fabrizio to Seoul for this precious occasion and look forward to collaborating with them and GFG Style on this extraordinary design project.” Said Hyundai Motor Group Chief Creative OfficerDonckerwolke. “This is a historically valuable initiative and represents a cross-cultural exchange that could pave the way for further collaborations in the future.”
