The Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Sport Cabriolet Turinga.
The Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Sport Cabriolet Turinga is one of the first Alfa Romeos with the triangular shield Although the cars built by Carrozzeria Touring (Turinga) during the war were very few, destined exclusively for high authorities, especially military ones, they are still important from an aesthetic point of view. It was on the first Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Super Sport chassis produced in 1942, with central reinforcement cross, 110 HP engine and 2700 mm wheelbase, that the first front with the “trilobo”, still a hallmark of Alfa Romeos, made its debut. Basically it is the result of the fusion of the front “a prua”, already tested on some specimens before the conflict, with the classic Alfa Romeo grille. In fact, the first triangular scudetti were tall and narrow, because they take place on the narrow “a prua” front with the same grille as the previous Alfa’s, and flanked by two openings under the headlights to ensure cooling. In addition to several 6C 2500s, the new front is also applied to the Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B long 2-door sedan completed in 1942 for King Michael I of Romania, which is also the first Touring car with a front fender that blends elegantly with the door.
