Vehicle Overview

The Ferrari FX is a bespoke sports car, custom made by Pininfarina for the 29th Sultan of Brunei. This unique vehicle features the powerful flat-twelve engine from the Ferrari Testarossa paired with a 7-speed sequential manual transmission sourced from the Williams Formula One team. This  resulted in a car that boasted impressive technical specifications and a distinct design. Depending on the source, only seven or nine Ferrari FX cars were ever produced. Six of these were delivered to the Royal Family in Brunei, demonstrating the Sultan’s penchant for exclusive and custom-made automobiles. However, the delivery of the fourth car was cancelled by the Sultan, leading to its acquisition by Dick Marconi. This particular car, known as car number four, is now proudly displayed at the Marconi Automotive Museum in Tustin, California. The Ferrari FX, with its formidable engine and advanced transmission, achieved a top speed of around 205 mph (330 km/h). Despite its potential for high-speed performance, Ferrari stated that their goal was not to create the fastest car in the world but to produce a vehicle that embodied a unique blend of luxury, innovation, and performance. The Ferrari FX stands out not only for its engineering prowess but also for its rarity and the bespoke nature of its creation. Each unit reflects a deep commitment to craftsmanship and a tailored approach to automotive design, catering to the specific desires of the Sultan of Brunei.
