The creation of the Lola Ultimo marked one of the final projects overseen by Giovanni Michelotti, a legendary figure in automotive design, before his untimely death in 1980 at the age of 58. Following Giovanni’s passing, his son Edgardo Michelotti took the helm, continuing his father’s esteemed work until 1990. The last car exhibited by the Michelotti company was the “Villedeuxmille,” presented at the 1990 Torino Auto Show. Although it was only a non-functional maquette, the Villedeuxmille symbolized the studio’s continued exploration of futuristic design concepts and its dedication to pushing the boundaries of automotive aesthetics.
