The Lincoln By Vignale built by Ghia Torino.
The Lincoln by Vignale, a two-passenger, world-class convertible concept car, will be displayed to North America at the Detroit, Chicago and New York automobile shows in 1987. Designed by Ford Motor Company’s North American Design Center and fabricated by Ford’s Italian facility, Ghia in Turin, Italy, the Lincoln By Vignale provides a glimpse of what the high-performance, luxury touring car of the 1990’s might be like. Ford designers have taken advantage of a multibeam headlight system to achieve a low front-end height and consequently, a low base of windshield height. The integrated front bumper with optimized air intake and wide driving lights allows a smooth transition from the front of the car to the sides. At the rear, the integrated bumper and sweeping taillights treatment emphasize the vehicle’s overall width and help highlight the wide track and large tires.
