The Ghia IXG Dragster
The Ghia IXG Dragster, designed by Tom Tjaarda, was to set <1000cc drag racing records and incorporated undercar aerodynamics several years before Jim Hall and the Chaparral team brought them to Can-Am. “La Drag-Car da Record,” translatable as “the drag car for setting records.” The one-seater lays claim to being the first vehicle to make use of underbody aerodynamic design meant to reduce wind drag and improve performance.
