The car’s journey continued as it was later owned by the Italian Embassy in Montevideo, where it was used for official receptions, reflecting its status as a vehicle of prestige. In 1971, the car returned to Italy, marking the beginning of a complete restoration that would return it to its former glory. The new owner entrusted the bodywork to the renowned coachbuilder Boano in Rome, where the vehicle’s paint was restored to its original red and black color scheme. The interior was carefully refurbished by the talented Cesari, also based in Rome, while the mechanical components were overhauled by Campidoglio Motori. Every detail of the restoration was meticulously attended to, from the fine marquetry and dashboard instruments to the unique inflator system that channels air from the engine’s cylinders into the tires. In 1989, the car was acquired by its fifth and current owner, a passionate Italian collector who has continued to preserve and cherish the vehicle. Today, the Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8A Farina stands as a testament to both the extraordinary craftsmanship of its era and the dedication of those who have preserved it over the years.
